Speak Once,
Connect Forever
Today's audio and video content is about making a great first impression and maintaining a meaningful connection. Optimizing critical elements like show format and on-air presence can make all the difference.
"Scott Murray is one of the most professional, polished, and informed members of the podcasting world that I have had the pleasure of working with. His organization and planning are top-notch, as is his knowledge of media, both behind-the-scenes, as well as on the microphone and on camera. He would be an asset to any company!"

There are so many podcasts out there today, the joke is "everybody has one."
However, they provide unique and undeniable advantages to businesses and personal brands. To fully benefit from those perks, you have to do more than record and upload. You have to create a show that stands out and develop an on-air presence that builds a relationship with an audience.
Podcast Trends to Consider
Filled with Active & Inactive Content
While there are thousands of podcasts created every year, many of them become inactive after 8-12 episodes. There are a variety of reasons for this, including lack of preparation. But this also means there continues to be opportunities to fill the voids.
Overwhelmed Listeners Want Something Better
While podcast listenership has increased in recent years, people acknowledge the number of podcasts are overwhelming. However, they also say they're still interested in finding more podcasts that offer something different and industry discussions that go deeper.
Eight Podcasts Might Not Be Enough
It's not uncommon today for people to listen to 8 podcasts per week, and power listeners are engaged in podcasts for several hours a week. You have to give them a reason to add your show to their routines.
Optimizing Podcasts for Modern Audiences
In order to capture audiences' attention today, podcasts need to have the feel of a professional show. Many podcasters follow the same production methods because they think that's the standard, but there is so much more potential for creativity and innovation.
I focus on the most significant components of differentiation and engagement.
"From a content, creative and directional point of view, Scott is a true professional and enjoyable to work with. I highly recommend Scott to anyone that is looking to create a new podcast or enhance an existing one. "

Convey Your Passion, Intention and Dedication
My journey in audio production began at the North Texas Public Broadcasting Station in 2007 and transitioned into podcasting in 2011.
Since then, I've witnessed the podcasting space transform from a niche content trend to a mainstream media platform.
Similar to any modern content, as the content evolved, so did the audience.
Within seconds of hitting "play," listeners form opinions about you and your show.
To make a podcast stand out, it requires creativity and quality. Connecting with audiences necessitates a polished on-air presence, and growing an audience requires consistency.
My Podcasting Highlights
What did you do at North Texas Broadcasting?
I was an on-air fundraising producer hired to improve radio drives. I coached on-air talent, produced live radio, produced pre-recorded shows and segments, collaborated with NPR personalities, and worked as an on-air and voiceover talent. The content resulted in record fundraising drives and positive listener feedback.
When did you launch your first podcast and what was the topic?
I launched my first podcast in 2011. It was a pop culture podcast featuring an introduction that was way too long and underwent many changes. The most significant change was when I started booking and interviewing celebrities in each episode.
What are some of your biggest successes in podcasting?
Probably finding ways to mix high-quality production with creativity in spaces crowded with similar podcasts. I eventually ran a pop culture podcast network, and the flagship show grew its audience by 7x in less than a year and growing a very niche show to 3,000 - 5,000 downloads per episode. I also hosted, produced and edited a creative show covering ABC's Agent Carter. We found out the writers and Hayley Atwell were listening. I later interviewed her as a preview to Season Two.
What types of show formats have you produced?
Interview format, game show format, audio skits, episodic fiction podcast, single host talk show and more.
What have you done for other podcasts and creators?
I've worked as a producer and guest booker for other shows. I've helped companies develop podcasts to help inform and entertain their audiences. I've helped solopreneurs with show development and on-air coaching. I also produced a virtual session for Podcast Movement about "How to Create a Podcast That Stands Out on Day One."
Do you do any work with video?
Video has been part of my work from Day One, but on the podcast side, I mainly work with people on their on-air presence (hosting style, script reading, script writing, etc.). Most of my other video work is on the content strategy side.
