Top-Notch Organization, Planning, and Knowledge

"Scott Murray is one of the most professional, polished, and informed members of the podcasting world that I have had the pleasure of working with. His organization and planning are top-notch, as is his knowledge of media, both behind-the-scenes, as well as on the microphone and on camera. He would be an asset to any company!"

Most podcasts blend in. Standing out takes expertise.
The key to success is finding creative, proven ways to make it stand out.

(Your Show)

Most business podcasts fail to stand out because they make these common mistakes:

1. Their format sounds like every other podcast in their space
2. They don't invest enough time in show structure and editing
3. They make mistakes with audio quality, presentation, and scripting
4. Listeners don't feel a genuine connection with the host
5. They treat the show like a promotional tool instead of a valuable resource
Many business leaders avoid podcasting because they believe myths that aren't true:

1. They have to do both audio and video
2. It will be too expensive or time consuming
3. Nobody will care or listen
4. There's no way to create a podcast around their business
5. Episodes must be long and fully scripted

Don't Leave Your Podcast Success to Chance
Most business podcasts fail because their creators are figuring it out as they go. I help you get it right from day one, bringing 20+ years in broadcast and digital media to guide you through what actually works - not trial and error.

Common Questions: Answered
1 / What are some of the industries you've worked with?
Real estate, training, non-profit, healthcare, personal brand, tax/financial services, technology, and more. The common thread isn't industry. It's wanting to build trust and connection with an audience through strategic and humanized communication.
2 / Can you also assist with video podcasting?
Yes. I highlighted audio podcasting on this page because many people assume video is required, but audio-only is still a powerful and cost-effective option. That said, I work with both audio and video podcasts, and can help you decide which format best fits your goals and audience. There are also ways to incorporate both.
3 / How long does the LAUNCH process usually take?
Typically4-6 weeks from strategy to your first produced episode. However, it's built around a schedule that works for you.
4 / How long does it take to produce an episode?
It depends on a few factors - like whether you're doing an hour-long show or a 15-20 minute show, and how much production work you're handling yourself. The honest answer: there's always a fear about not having time, but there are several ways to create a process that doesn't interfere with other critical business needs. Part of our work together is building a system that fits your schedule. Inevitably, it becomes automatic and time well spent.
5 / If we can't predict downloads, how do we measure success?
The key is being happy with the show, the process, and your ability to create something of high value to your audience. You'd be amazed at how much of that (plus quality production) builds audience on it's own. If all you had to do was upload to grow audience, everyone would do it well. You're going to do it better than many others, and that will be key. Plus, I'll remain someone you can always reach out to, and even the best podcasters still try to find ways to improve things over time.
6/ What happens after the 3-month minimum? Will I be dependent on you forever?
The whole point of advisory support is to build your capability. Many clients choose to keep monthly support because they value the feedback and accountability, but you're absolutely equipped to fly solo if you want to. I expect that to happen at some point because after some time, the podcast process because automatic and easier. Some clients transition to occasional check-ins once they're ready.
7/ Can you help me get podcast guests?
Yes, guest strategies can be part of a launch or an improvement strategy. We'll focus on everything from pitching and communication to interview structure. I've booked and interviewed over 100 guests on podcasts, and there are many strategies that have held true for years. However, it's important to note: you don't HAVE to rely on interviews to create an engaging show. Some of the most successful podcasts are host-only or narrative-driven.
8/ What if someone has already done a podcast about my topic?
Good. That means there's an audience for it. The problem isn't that your topic exists - the problem is that most shows covering your topic likely sound exactly the same. My job is to help you approach it differently through format, perspective, and delivery so your show doesn't blend in. Part of our strategy is to get listeners to fit your show into their listening routine, so we have to give them reasons to do it.
